How to Measure Your Foot

Two minutes, a wall, a sheet of paper and a ruler — that's all you need.

Step 1

Trace your foot

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against the wall. Keep your weight on that foot and trace the outline with a pen or pencil.

Step 2

Measure heel to toe

Measure a straight line from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe. Jot it down in inches or centimetres — both columns are in the charts above.

Step 3

Match and compare

Measure both feet, usually at the end of the day when feet are at their largest, then match the longer foot to the chart. If you land between sizes, go up a half size.

Fit Notes by Style

A quick reference for the most common sizing questions.

Standard fit
Most sneakers and slip-ons fit true to size in U.S. industry sizing. Order your usual size.
Wider feet
Sizing up a half size is the simplest fix for extra room across the ball of the foot.
Platform & chunky soles
These silhouettes can feel slightly snug through the toe box. Going up a half size is often more comfortable.
Slip-ons & easy on/off
Cut roomier through the instep for step-in comfort. Wear them as they come; they relax a touch with wear.
Socks vs. no socks
Plan on thick boot socks? Take the half size up. Barefoot wearers should stay with a true-to-size pick.
Men's vs. women's
The women's and men's charts differ by about 1.5 sizes: a women's U.S. 8 converts to roughly a men's U.S. 6.5.
Between two sizes
Always round up. A slightly roomier fit can be laced tighter; a too-small shoe cannot be laced looser.

Do these shoes run true to size?

Yes. Our footwear is built to standard U.S. sizing, so most people order the size they normally wear. Wide feet are the main exception — go a half size up.

Should I size up or down for canvas sneakers?

Stay true to size for canvas styles. The upper softens and moulds to your foot after a few wears, and sizing down can feel tight across the toes.

How do I convert my EU or UK size?

Find your usual U.S. size in the first column, then read across for the EU and UK equivalent. If you only know your EU size, match it in that column first.

My feet measure two different lengths — which do I use?

Always fit the longer foot and use that measurement. Most people have one foot slightly larger, and the longer one decides the fit.

What if the size I order still doesn't fit?

Measurements are approximate and can vary slightly between styles, materials and colourways. Foot length in inches and centimetres refer to the foot itself, not the inside of the shoe. If you are still unsure, measure twice and size up when in doubt.
